It is <em style="font-style: italic; font-weight: 400;">long</em>, but the gist of it is that the teller encounters a creepy old man, who gives him a strange, blank Nintendo 64 cartridge with “MAJORA” sharpied on it. He takes it home, plays it and deletes a gamesave marked BEN.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Very strange, very threatening things then start happening, and while I think it’s nothing more than a ghost story, it’s very, very well written. It’ll have you on the edge of your seat, grabbing your monitor and screaming “JUST TURN THE GODDAMN N64 OFF!!!!” And it even comes with three videos, attached below.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The entire story <a href="http://inuscreepystuff.blogspot.com/2010/09/majora.html" style="color: #e21b5a; text-decoration: none;">may be read here</a> (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/10/haunted-majoras-mask-cartridge-detailed-on-video" style="color: #e21b5a; text-decoration: none;">via Joystiq</a>). I expect to see some expert damn mythbusting in our comments – or maybe, maybe the haunting is <em style="font-style: italic; font-weight: 400;">real</em> …<br />

Some scary stuff. Again, taken from Kotaku. According to a new study conducted by astrophysicists based in Australia and England, these universal constants might not be as universal as we thought.<span id="more-412887"></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The laws of physics are handy little things that help scientists make sense of a universe that more often than not does not make sense. Take the fine-structure constant, or alpha, for instance. It’s a magic number that tells us how strong electromagnetism is. It and other such constants are central to the theory of physics as we know it.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">And it turns out it might not quite be constant.</div><blockquote style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: #eeeeee; background-image: url(http://cache.alluremedia.com.au/g/base.v1/img/blockquote-bg.gif); background-origin: initial; background-position: 5px 5px; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-left-style: solid; border-left-width: 1px; border-right-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-right-style: solid; border-right-width: 1px; border-top-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 10px;"><div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">“After measuring alpha in around 300 distant galaxies, a consistency emerged: this magic number, which tells us the strength of electromagnetism, is not the same everywhere as it is here on Earth, and seems to vary continuously along a preferred axis through the universe,” Professor John Webb from the University of New South Wales said.</div></blockquote><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Webb is part of a team from the University of New South Wales, Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Cambridge that is submitting a report of the discovery for publication in the journal Physical Review Letters.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The researchers base their findings on data taken from both the Very Large Telescope in Chile and the world’s largest optical telescopes at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii. Looking at distant galaxies from the Kleck Observatory, researchers observed the alpha getting smaller, while observations taken from the Very Large Telescope looking in the opposite direction indicated a larger alpha. The findings seem to indicate that the alpha fluctuates along a curve.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Which would mean the constant is not constant and the theory of physics might need some serious revision, says Professor Webb.</div><blockquote style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: #eeeeee; background-image: url(http://cache.alluremedia.com.au/g/base.v1/img/blockquote-bg.gif); background-origin: initial; background-position: 5px 5px; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-left-style: solid; border-left-width: 1px; border-right-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-right-style: solid; border-right-width: 1px; border-top-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, 'Lucida Grande', times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 10px;"><div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">“The implications for our current understanding of science are profound.
